This photo was taken in early September 2002 on my first trip to Alaska. I had never seen glaciers, let alone photographed them as we don't have glaciers in Oklahoma where I live. Canon Elan 7, Canon 28-80mm, Fuji Provia 100F, Hoya Warming Polarizer. Photographed from the decks of one of the big cruiseliners so this was shot handheld and braced against the railing. Bright sunny afternoon in the Fjord. I even got a little sunburned shooting glacier photos.

Wow, days like this are very rare in Prince William Sound, especially in September! This year was really a treat. Very nice, the ice bergs are a nice touch.

Very nice, especially with the lush green vegetation.

Beautifully done Linda. You've captured a good mix of the forested areas and the glacial fields. I like the higher perspective in this case. (My wife and I use a sea kayak to get around in PWS.)

This is one of the nicest parts of the Sound. But then its awefully tough to beat a tide water glacier.

This is nice, but there is a strong blue cast.
I think it looks significantly better if you reduce the blue channel in levels to about 0.55. IMO that really makes it sing!

Apart from the cast, this is a great image!

A magical location - I like the scattering of icebergs in the foreground. I think I'd crop the foreground water to put more emphasis on the floating ice. I agree it looks a little too blue.

I agree. REmoving the blue cast and as Eric has said cropping the empty water at the bottom would make this better.

Before reading the other comments I also came to the conclusion that cropping from the bottom, and perhaps a slither from the top would strenthen this image a lot. It is a very dramatic scene.
