BALD EAGLE (Haliaeetus leucocephalus)

Camera: Nikon D1x
Lens: Nikon 80-400mm VR (shot @ 250mm)
ISO: 500
Aperture: f12
Shutter: 1/1500
Exp. Comp.: -0.3
Full frame

This image was made a few years ago, hand held, in Homer, Alaska, while scouting locations for our workshops. The only adjustment other than color, contrast and sharpening, was removing a few burned-out water droplets.

great action . . excessive digital noise in background is an issue . . remedied with noise reduction.

Nice action shot! I like the expression! I agree about the noise and also wish for some details in the underwing. Using a flash could make this image even better.

A dynamic shot, Weldon!
I see pixelated not noise in this image. Perhaps a larger file (can be upto 120kB) would fix that ...

Beautiful shot, Weldon! At a quick glance it did look like a lot of noise but after reading, KK's comment it just may be the file size. Either way it is a lovely shot. Great pose and the fish is always an added bonus.

Thanks for sharing!

Thanks for all of your wonderful comments. My dog was in Colorado with my youngest son when I made this trip. Thanks for asking.
