hey guys!

had a bit of playing here...especially with "painterly" edges...

this one was made with a couple artistic filters...i believe it was "sum-e" and "dark strokes" layered a couple times with different blending modes and then a 'normal' photo layer on top, set to "color dodge" and masked to only show through on the tower (killed the clouds otherwise ;) )
and then i spent about a half an hour on the edge...i made multiple different ones...
starting off with the old way...with quick mask mode, and filters on the "mask" stuff...and then making a selection out of it and deleting from the image...
but then tried out a new way
of just using a layer mask, and brushes(with textures) to take away some of the image...

so here's my result!

I've always meant to try B/W Vito, mainly because of the look you have here with the contrast M8t. Never got around to it, so thanks for the reminder. Well done with the strokes and even the frame suits Vito. :D

All the best up and beyond :) :)

thanks guys :-D
i might have gone a little too aggressive on the edge ;)
this image didn't have too much "open space" on the edge that i could just make disappear...so i lost a lot of clouds up top...

thanks for looking :-D

nice work. I'd like to see a color version though.
