This image was captured in mid May by putting on the boots and wading into Raymond Pool, where there were Stilts and Avocets feeding.

Please enjoy.

Wonderful shot! When you waded in the pool did you walk right out into the goo and sit down or what? The mud there is so deep in some places I would worry you would get stuck. Also, did anyone see you?

Greg,

This shot was taken at the north end of the pool, which was full of water due to a recent, heavy rain, The mud was not bad at all and the tripod was not all that low. We asked the ranger prior to entering the water if it was ok, and he said yes, but didn't think that we should walk all the way across the pond. Got about halfway across for this image. My boots were the knee high variety.
