Long Billed Curlew San Diego, California
1D M2, 100-400mm, 1/1500, f5.6, manual exposure, ISO 250. Cropped off 20%.

Taken 8-25-05 in the San Diego River channel. I got wet and muddy on this one.

This is killer Steve. Only thing that would help this one is to rotate it a bit CW. Such great light and the fluffing feathers are fantastic. Wish I would have crawled out there in the muck with you but I do have some good shots of you covered in sludge. :shock: :mrgreen:

Wonderful shot Steve! :) :) amazing light, colors and the fluffed feathers! at first look I also thought it needs a slight rotation but I realise the bird is standing just right and it is the OOF green diagonal area at the BG which gives this wrong impression. :wink: - excellent!
