Here's another startrail/contrail photo. Note the "jiggle" on the right side. That's not camera movement (the stars would show it too if it was). That's probably either turbulence shaking the plane or the flaps being lowered as it prepares for landing (Dane Co. Airport was about 40 miles away). Relative movement of the plane was right to left.

Note also how the waves start large and then dampen out - that's a sign of a good, stable airplane - takes a perturbation and returns to it's heading.

Anyway, I think it's pretty neat. I'll have to try some more of these. But right now it's cloudy for the next few days :(

Now even I can see the art in that. Good vision and capture. Without the explanation reminds me of painting with lights or lasers.
