AWESOME STUFF!

What color and shadow. It looks like a rock because of that nice gray texture. Congrats!

Very nice! I like the purples and the framing. Excellent lighting, too.

This is a striking image. The composition is pleasing with a strong diagonal. I too like your use of shadow, especially at the top where it seems to frame your subject. The over monotone color scheme works to simplify the image while allowing the purples to really stand out. The surface texture of the onion? is almost of an inorganic feel (stone-like as mentioned). I feel that a little fill to bring out additional texture in the deepest shadow area would have been a plus, and would have softened the overall contrast which seems a bit harsh on my screen (LCD). Overall, a well crafted and creative image that makes me wonder what else you may create in your kitchen.

Hey Mark,

Really a great image .. I like Paul's discussion of it, but I like it as is too. This is what I'd call a pretty courageous image .. not too many people would step up to shoot something like this. very cool.

Cheers

Carl

Very nice bulb...the purple sprouts coming out of the top are very cool and great color.

Very soft and subtle shadows give this a lovely appearance. I think this is about perfect and quite reminiscent of other organic critters, like a shell or rock. What did you use for film?
