I didn't find many salamander pictures on the forum, so I decided to post one.

I can't believe. It was quite nice and hot weather on Saturday last week when I took this image and today is snowing and cold here in Montreal.

I found this Blue-spotted Salamander under a log and couldn't resist to make some pictures with nice colored leaves as a background. Here is one of them. You can see more BSS on my new web-page at
http://www.wnp.sk/thumbnails.php?album= ... salamander if you want.

Nice image with good detail, lovely colours and great composition with the placement of the Salamander on the leaf.

Thanks for sharing something we don't often see on here.

Cool shot Fero.

What lens did you use, I can't decide if it's a very big leaf or a small salamander :D

This one is super slow to load but it was worth the wait. I love the shot and the contrast between the cool colors of the salamander and the warm colors of the leaf.

Sorry for big file, it is 200 kB. Jpeg 10 is good for plain BG but not so efficient here.

It was taken with 100/2.8 macro from the tripod, I used C-PL filter. The salamander was about 8 cm long,

Fero, I really like this shot, mainly due to the color contrast between the salamander and the leaf you placed him on. The composition and exposure are perfect. I'm not sure if it would make a stronger image or not, but I'd like to see a similar shot executed without the green leaves, just leaving the primary colors in the frame.

Beautiful contrasts in color and the composition works well for showing this animal. Nice work!
