Another old shot from Singapore Botanic Garden, a male Trithemis aurora
Image
1/60s f/5.6 ISO 200, EV -1, flash fired (handheld, slightly cropped)

DOF could be better on this one I guess, I rather like the colors combination here, hope you like it.

Stunning color. I agree on DOF.

 Looks like some kid took to the poor critter with some crayons! The DOF doesn't bother me, in fact, I think the soft background is brilliant and you may have lost that with a smaller aperture.

What a great specimen. The color is exceptional. I agree that a little more DOF would be nice but usually comes with the penalty of more distracting background. This is very nice.

The colors in this are unreal, Tim -- I've never seen a dragonfly remotely close to that color. I really enjoy the complimentary colors here, along with the very well done composition and exposure. Another option for getting full sharpness on the subject without more detail in the background would have been more of an effort to get the film plane parallel by moving a bit more to your left.

Very nice composition and amazing colors. While more dof would be nice, IMO not if it caused distraction in the background.

Awesome colors, nice composition. I, too, would go for a little more DOF IF I could do it w/o making the background more distracting/
