I have been to the Pictured Rocks area in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan a number of times. This October I took the boat tour and can appreciate why the area is so popular with kayakers. It was an interesting perspective and totally different view of the lakeshore. This was in fairly harsh afternoon light but there is a nice glow on the rocks facing west.

Nice perspective, Steve. I like the comprssed effect of the telephoto here...makes me feel like I can just swim under one arch to the second.
Shoot in RAW because memory is cheap, but memories are priceless.

Have never seen this place up close or even in a book! Very informative photo and I think the rock on the right is going to fall in. This might be a good place for rock bass. Can you sell this to the Chamber of Commerce?
I'd maybe go back and photograph a kayak headed into the arch. 8)

Neat shot, Steve. How difficult was it to shoot from the boat?

Very interesting. I might have tried to move a tad more to the right (but obviously this may not have been possible on the boat). I also think it would benefit a bit from cropping the right a bit and some of the water, all to get the arch off center.

Very nice as is too!
