I took this in China's Inner Mongolia province last year.

I love dunes images (probably envy, never having had the opportunity to shoot any myself) and this one's a beauty.

The textures and the softness are great. My eye wanders all over this image.

Oshkosh? Where's that? :D

This looks like one of XP's desktop themes. Very nice shot!

The curves, ripples, texture and contrast between the sky and sand are superb!

What a superb shot!!! I love the texture of the sand, as well as the angle of the dune throughout the frame...the sky is nice as well!!!

Awesome. I love the bit of sand being blown over the top of the dune.

Awesome! I would crop from the top so that the sand meets the upper left corner.

Ken

Oshkosh is 8 miles east of Omro. :D

The scale question is tougher to answer. From the bottom to the top of the curve is in the area of 100 feet or less. By the way, Ken, this was shot while on a trip with Carl Stapel.

E.J.

Great idea on the crop and I will try that next time I print it.

Len,

Very NIce. I like E.J.'s suggested crop. I also lke how some sand is blowing off the duen in the midground. Really neat. Was sand in your camera bag an issue?
