Congratulations! This is the Birds image of the week for week ending 4/15/05.
Image
Taken last Saturday at the Fisherville location in Ontario. First time I've seen them, thanks to Sam Barone for taking me down there.

What appears to be a sharpening halo on the leading edges of the wings is actually highlighted edges.

1DM2, 500 f4 handheld.
1/1000 @ f8. ISO 200
Cropped to square.
Frederick Lat Correa

I was standing in a very soggy field that had just thawed. No way was I going to lie down in that, I would have sunk.

Lat,

Outstanding shot. Love the eye contact and the diagonal wing span. Very well done.

Great shot! I have been down there many times, and I always seemed to have cloudy skies so the flight shots were no good. I love the eye contact and diangonal, it really makes the image. My only nit is the wing tips are close to the edge of the frame, pretty easy to fix in PS! :D
