The Desert Cottontail is not a jackrabbit, although it's hind feet and ears do look larger than most Cottontails. The seed cluster in front of the bunny is from a Screwbean Mesquite. Each individual Screwbean spirals just like a screw and, in fact, the Spanish name is "Tornillo" which means screw. These seeds are eaten by the cottontail.

Very successful image in my book. Nice size in the frame, perfect exposure, good detail and interesting seed pod thing...This is a very cool shot and my only thought for a suggestion, digging deep here, would be what do you think about cloning out the oof thing in the FG in front of the foot? Since the ground has a nondescript look should be pretty straight forward to clone over this little brown area.. Just a thought, excellent as is.. Thanks for posting here in FFM>

If you're into cloning, Dennis's suggestion is a good one. Other than that, I wouldn't change a thing. Pose is good, background works well, and bean definitely adds interest.

You couldn't ask for better placement in the frame o a better pose. All he technicals are on the money too. I'd consider cloning the little bit of OOF matter on the bottom.

Very nice shot, Alan. The subject has a perfect pose, the composition is well done, and the colors and lighting work very well. You also did a nice job preventing any background elements from intersecting the subject. A crop from mostly the right side to an 8x10 format might also make a strong image.
