Mt Kiangarow is on the western side of Bunya Mountains National Park and receiving less rain being in the mountains rain shadow it supports plants more suited to the climate.

The park is 3hrs inland from Brisbane, QLD

The trees on the left are Grasstrees and like infertile soils. Gum trees and stinging nettles cover the right side of the track.

I had walked up here to photograph the grasstrees with the sun setting behind them. A 30-40 knot wind was howling up the ridge. Care was needed to stay out of the nettles and other thorny plants.

I have moved this to the Elements of Humankind Forum but left it so it is visible in the LAndscape Forum as well.

Nice shot Wayne. I like the way you have the wind captured, feels good. Thanks for the narrative.
