Another image from Triple D Game farm and the STL workshop. We were scheduled to shoot a cougar on a ridge at sunrise the first morning of the workshop but since it was overcast we had to 'settle' for this wolf and some really nice reflections of her by a small pond.

Canon 10D with 100-400 IS on tripod at 160mm, ISO 200, 1/250 @ 5.6, ff @-2, incident meter.

Cheryl, excellent shot, like the behavior and the reflection is perfect. Exposure is right on the money. Great thing about this trip, whenever we had to "settle" for some change due to weather, it always ended up being better then anything I could have imagined... Great going here with Dakota and the reflection pond!

Great shot Cheryl, its almost like she is leaning forward to 'kiss' the spirit of the water.

Wow this is a real nice one Cheryl! Very poignant and a notch above the average animal portrait, I think, with the added reflection. My daughter is a huge wolf lover and I just pulled her away from her cornflakes to see it. LOVES IT!!! :D

Cheryl, looks like you nailed this one in a wonderful pose. The exposure looks on target and the reflection could not be better. Man, was she busy!
I will take that lighting over bright sun anytime. We will nail the mt. lion next time  .

Best,

Cheryl, This looks like a very healthy, well-fed wolf, and that's about the only thing that hints that this is captive. This is the first wolf and reflection shot I've ever seen. Great work!
