1DMkII, Canon 100-400 @ 370mm with 500D Close Up lens attachment, ISO 250, 1/80, f/8, Full frame

Taken at Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary last November. More DOF might have been good, but I like the narrow focus effect here anyway.
Comments and criticisms welcome.

I agree that DOF would have been nice, but this is spectacular as is!

Hi Christina - This is great study in narrow DOF. You nailed the critical element to draw interest at the edge of the right eye. Amazing to see how truly shallow it is based on what I think is sand. Cools Shot, works for me!

Excellent shot, I like the DOF like this. With the 500D you have to stop way down (F22) to get much DOF. I like to use it for selective focus shots because of the effect.

I really like this a lot. Not only for the good choice of selective focus, but the composition shows careful planning. The foot included at the bottom is a nice touch. Would make for a nice cover!

 Wow, what a view. This is the kind of shot I like to see. The limited DOF keeps the observers attention on the face of the subject. Excellent.
