This is one cool shot. Unbelievable in the position of the legs on the silky thread. Very artistic and amazing, too.

I've always liked spiders. :) I think this is great and especially love that you can see the thin line of web in the image. The blue background is great too.

I think I'd like this more as a horizontal.

Love, love, love this Harvey! Very strong silhouette that makes for a powerful graphic. If I look close enough I can even see a little detail on his hairy legs. Wondering what time of day this was shot. Very cool!

This was shot at 8AM straight up in the sky. He was about 20 feet above my head.

Cool shot Harvey. Great spider shilhouette and I particularly like the very thin web in silhouette.

Great shot! I agree with the suggestion to crop as a horizontal.

This is a really cool shot, Harvey. Nice job spotting the potential of the situation and making a really unique photo. I'd like to see how it looks with the subject higher in the frame.

It might look nice to have the spider higher in the frame but all my photos are at a 4X5 ratio and my panos are at 1X3 for printing, matting and framing and I don't change aspect ratios for the web. If I cropped more room off the top then I'd have to crop more off the side and there's just no room left there to crop :)

Harvey, this is a very cool image. I do agree a crop would further enhance this fine image. It seems a bit constricting to limit yourself in this regard. As an artist, I would think you would want to present/print the image, as it looks best. Although, I do understand the uniformity with regard to purchasing mats/frames, etc.

IMO a crop is merely an extension of the creative process.

Best,

Chas
