Nice shot for the motif. Lovely details and rim lighting, and pretty amazing how you balanced the brighter background with the dark hues of the flower. Did you use a reflector?

I did not use a reflector.

I held detail in both the flowers and background with the exposure. I took a couple of different exposures and checked the histogram. I used a minor levels/curves adjustment in Photoshop to bring up the flower detail a little more.

Wonderful rich colors in this beauty, and very nice background shown.
I would be tempted to crop the bottom a bit, right up to where that white area is in the background that I think distracts from the overall image a wee bit.
Still, ........ really like this one Art, and hope you have a bunch more to show us this season.

Keep'em coming buddy, and thanks for posting this one!

Hopefully spring will be here in New Jersey in a few weeks and my flowers will start to push up through the ground and I'll have more new stuff to share.

You may be right about the crop on the bottom.

Thanks Michael.

Nice comp however, the flowers are much darker than the background and the background keeps pulling my eye there. I think that using a reflector to add light to the flowers and using a diffuser or umbrella to shade the background may have helped some.
Thanks for posting,
