It never ceases to amaze me how many different 'takes' there are on antlers and horns in the animal kingdom! These are certainly unique with their horns being almost a pairing of two different types. Nice portrait Dick with good detail and bright eye. 8) 8) 8) :)

Nice close up DG but still with plenty of room around the subject in the frame...

Not "almost"! Pronghorns are the only species (AFAIK) which has both horns and antlers. (At least according to some sources. Others disagree, possibly on the definition of horn vs. antler. I'm no biologist, so I won't try to say who is right.)

The outer "antler" is shed every year, but it grows over a smaller "horn" which is not shed.

Anyway, this is a nice picture, and reaffirms my resolve to actually visit the southeast part of my province sometime! I spend so much time in the mountains, that I neglect the prairies and badlands which have so much to offer, including pronghorns. (Of course, one of the wonders of Alberta is that we don't have poisonous creepy-crawlies. Except in the south-east, where there a few species of venomous snake, spider and scorpion... I'd rather deal with the bears in the mountains!)

Very nice. I'm not a fan of a near-square format but it works well here.

Rich, thanks. It's a standard 8 x 10 crop.
