Straight down angle is a little different but interesting, the view from a boat. Looks like the sun was out creating hot reflections on the head. Sometimes a polarizer will help with this. Nice whisker detail and light in both eyes.. Thanks for sharing..

Different angle and high noon - correct! My results with a polarizer have not been as effective as when I was shooting film and used a polarizer 99% of the time. Do you find the results as good with digital?

Same for glare Peter but at noon you are not getting much out of the filter

For macro we use the polarizer for avoiding tiny hot reflections and it works !!!! PS (CS) has a built in polarizer filter and does give some effect but off course you can't take the glare out 8)

Don't think you could have done anything much with that harsh light short using a diffuser. I do think digital tolerates sun less than film? Digital loves open shade!!!!

Interesting perspective. Would look good with the highlights toned down.

I don't think I would even attempt a high-noon down on water shot . A different angle but spoilt by the glare. :?
