I finally got my equipment out and set-up in my backyard and had some fun yesterday. It was the first time I used my 20D for bird photography and I was quite please with it. The 1.6 crop factor was SO nice. I know this is a tad too hot.

Comments appreciated.

Canon 20D, 500/4 IS w/ 1.4 TC, ISO 400, F7.1, 1/200. Canon raw, converted with C1 (finally). Second catch light cloned out. Slight crop.

I love the dimensional look of this image and I wish I had a tree like this in my backyard! :)

Beautiful image. There is the slightest blue color cast to this and I wish the bird was looking more this way. Well done.

Wonderful shot.
I love the framing by the pine needles.

Nice job! I too really like the framed by needles/branches effect. A good "habitat" type image. About it being hot, have you tried the 2 exposure method when processing RAW? Develop one version for the highlights and another for shadows and combine manually or by using software.

Would want to see the white toned down a little and take away the slight color cast ...
A great capture, Chris!

This is a very pretty shot of the bird in it's habitat. I like the tiny little cones, just the right size for this little one.

Love the Hemlock(?). The cheeks are a bit toasty, but the lacy branches really make this one shine.
