Fantastic color and detail. I really like these kinds of shots taken while birds are preening and pause for a second and take a look around. Well done. I might add some more room on the right and top but not much.

I'm so jealous. I've been to Sanibel and estero lagoon looking for these and no luck...

nice shot!

Excellent shot - I agree about the room on the right but this is great.

I love the pose, the fanned tail and the steely grey background. I only wish for more room, particularly on the right.

It's tight in the frame and I don't care. One could add some canvas. Someone may comment on the shortness of the virtual legs, but that's also irrelevant to me in this image. The image causes me to look and look again. This might be my favorite ever of this species. The feathers are royal and the detail exquisite. Would love to see these rich colors full blown in a very large print. Nice! 8)

Sweet shot! :D I would like to see some more room around the bird - especially in the bottom where the virtual legs are...

A little tight for me too but still a very nice image Michael! I don't think I've ever noticed a bill with this black and white on it before.

Outstanding image, Michael. Adding about 100 pixels of canvas on the right would put this way, way over the top. Was this taken on Black Point?
