Hello Naturescapers,

I'm in between buying either a Lacie ElectronBlue 4 or a Mitshubishi Diamandtron 930 SB monitor.
The specs are the same, and I've heard that the Lacie uses a Mitshubishi tube, so is it worth paying the extra $ 150 for the Lacie?

Thanks for your input,

Bart

Hi Bart

Can't really help too much with the comparison, but I can tell you that I've been very pleased with my Mitsu 930SB which I've been using for the past 4 months. I couldn't really justify spending the extra on a Lacie ( I spent it on a Spyder instead ).

I just did a price check and you can get the 19" LaCie Electron Blue 4 for $350 delivered the Mitsubisihi is around the same price...I'm thinking of getting the LaCie.

Bart,

perhaps this helps.

In this month's issue of PC magazine there is a very big test on monitors (and perhaps also interesting DVD writers)

I'm not sure if the versions in here are the same, but the Mits.. Diamond Pro 2070SB is tested the best.

One has to keep in mind though that these is the result of all average results. This means that if you consider something else more important, a different monitor could be the best for you. Lacie gets the most points, but the price difference is enormous.

A few important things (name: this is the best tested):

Uniformity: draw
Colour: Lacie
Grey tones: draw
White level: draw
focus: Lacie
convergence: draw
Streaking: Lacie (I don't know what this means)
Monitor handling: Diamond
Moire: draw (both not so good)
Resolution: Diamond
DVD: draw
Benchmark score: draw

Cheers

Peter
