Wasn't going to post this since some might object to coming to close to loons. However, my daughter had held this pose for close to 1/2 hour and the loons came over to her, investigated and then swam over to see me before proceeding to go fishing. I was following the loons in the viewfinder and didn't realize how close they came to her until they were swimming away! This is my wife's favorite loon photo (wonder why? :) ) although the loons are just OOF.

Rich,
I am delighted that you posted this. Your patience and your acceptqance by the loons is a great learning example for the rest of us. Now, when are you going to invite us to your loon workshop . I would love to have an opportunity to see what you do so often.

It is amazing how close birds allow you to approach from the water compared to from land - nice shot.
