Venturing into a nature trail for the first time, I almost immediately stumbled upon this butterfly. It was quite still though it was not asleep yet.
The butterfly guide gave this id stating a standout feature is the orange apical portion of the antenna club. So true. This butterfly was first documented way back in 1941.(Corbet)

90D, 180Canon, 1/200, f13, Auto Focus, flash.

The male version of this butterfly is more colourful and stylish (in my opinion) but hope this female is worth a view.

Comments welcomed.

Lovely female- sometimes "we" need to have better camouflage! ;) She's a beauty, in any case, and well seen.

Great find and presentation. She's beautiful. I also find the habitat interesting, at least for me.
