Beaver Falls in New Hampshire.

I'm experimenting with freeze frame. Of course, this is the only one that came out (out of about 20).

I don't think you were in need of flash as much as a slower shutter speed. I think you could have still stopped the action at 1/500 sec. and that would lighten this up a bit. I'd try lightening this up with levels.

I don't think flash would do anything to this shot - it is interesting as is.

Its interesting- certainly more on the abstract side.

I think a flash would have just blown out the whites. A gold reflector might have warmed it up a bit.
