Been looking at some old CF cards. Found this 10 year old image in one of them. Taken in East Malaysia if my memory serves me right. Thought the quality is not too bad to share? Shot with the first macro lens I acquired, the 100mm Canon. The lighting is a bit flat. Old gears again.

1/200, f8, 40D, 100mm Canon macro, ETTL -1 .2/3, Handhold approach, cropped.

Hope the view is an interesting one. Do comment. :)

That really is a very scary face Darren! I won't look at it too long - I don't want to be seeing this in my dreams tonight!!

Great closeup and effect, Darren. Almost looks like an ancient mask.

Hi Craig,

Thanks for weighing in. For getting the focus right, definitely in the night some LED illumination was used....and  I think those unreal big eyes help....and we shoot many frames just to get on the right side of the law of probability. ;)

Thanks again !

Fabulous shot! Love those dark haunting eyes. And great textures -as good as anything I've seen with modern equipment! The Flickr image looks really sharp.
