Might be a bit of over use of neg space, but hey, ho.  (have a vertical crop of this as well, but nothing wrong with pushing at the rules every now and then).

Z9 and 800 PF Nikkor.  Shot on a steep bank where the winds had taken down a few mature trees and found this youngster watching me labour up the bank.

Please feel free to view uncompressed.  Thanks for looking.

Without the tree on the right side I would agree regarding negative space but this composition works for me and the curious look makes it for me.

I like the composition, it works well with the peek from behind the wood.

Sweet peek-a-boo- I love those liquid eyes and sweet face. Composition gives the deer space -works well for me. I could also see a slight crop on the right somewhere around where your signature is, and there would still be plenty of space. However, on second thought, perhaps the trees there balance the picture better.

Very beautiful and captivating shot, the composition works very well for me too and, as Cynthia says at the end,
the trees on the right side balance the whole image very well.
