I saw this Sparrowhawk fly into this tree but then I lost it. It wasn't until I looked through my long lens that I relocated him. I waited and waited for the right moment, then finally I got him looking back at me.

Always nice to see birds of prey, featured, Peter. The framing between the branches, adds an attractive element to the photograph here. The eyes are a highlight, as well.

The strange thing is,this tree was very close to a lake, so the only birds close by were large ducks.Maybe his eyes were bigger than its belly

Maybe so, if it is a smaller male, Peter.

The female which is 25% bigger than the male can easily take a pigeon and has been known to take a magpie and even a small crow. Perhaps if the ducks were all larger than that, it was wishful thinking.
