One of my favorite Ducks. We had a big flock, close to the beach.
This one came too close, no chance to compose with a fix focus lens.

That's why I love my 180-600. I had forgotten what a joy it was to use a zoom lens. It shines when a subject moves around or suddenly appears very close to you. Nice detail and light.

You got a shot though Karl. Gives us a chance to see the detail up close. I love the water droplets on it's head.

Lovely details, vibrant eye. Is a bit tight, but I'd still use a prime.
