If you come to Bosque anytime soon, there are a couple of interesting birds to be found just south of ABQ. There is a Surf Scoter, 2 Common Loons and an Osprey pair that are catching fish at Isleta Fishing Lakes. The lakes are located near the turnoff to Isleta on Highway 47 just south of I-25. It's an easy stop along the way to Bosque. The fee to get in is about $4.25. It's well worth checking out right now. There are Bald Eagles there occasionally, as well as Great Blue Herons and several other birds. It's a small, but productive area. Shooting distances are very close.
