The crop works well and gorgeous view either way - but I still prefer your original image with the sky included. It makes me want to breathe in and taste the air.

Comp flows very nicely from the sides in to the center.. I like the lichen color a lot, maybe just reduce the blues in the water a tad...

It's glacial silt - it really looks like that!
