Nothing ever gets missed by these deer.  I was sitting, watching the woods for deer activity, and an ear flick alerted me to its location.  (Sika male).

There was so much cover I never did see any more of the full body shape. 

Z9 800 PF S.   1/160 F6.3 ISO 1600.

Well spotted!   Excellent illustration of the more elusive deer behaviour, Dave.  This portrays so well how they can 'hide in plain sight' - and probably not even be spotted by the less observant wildlife watchers.  :)
