My wife, Gail, has planted many dahlia bulbs that she keeps in our basement over the winter.  This years crop turned out some beauties.  While the entire flower is certainly beautiful it is sometimes fun to look closely at its structure.  To my eye it is both symmetric and complicated with many colors, shadows and even mystery. Please click on images to see details.

Marvellous patterns Ed. Can't beat the natural world for the beauty it provides. Congrats to you and Gail.

Absolutely gorgeous - agree about the patterns. It really does look like it’s moving here. Very nice.

Love the depth and detail. It looks like a painting. Beautiful flower and point of view.
