One of those moments when the opportunity arose and I was totally unprepared.  Doh!  Cut the top off and had the settings not as desired.  Basically an OMG moment so a grab and shoot.  Had to just hope something might work as literally 2-3 seconds and the moment was gone.  (she'd already caught the Sparrow and I guess was looking for a stash place as I arrived home from work).

Z7II and the 100-400 at 1/200 F5 at 400 ISO.  stuff happens.....

Thanks for looking

I guess it went wrong for the sparrow too Dave and not much of a snack for foxy lady. Shame about the ears, but the detail and behaviour captured came out very well for a grab shot in haste! I just want to bathe her sore eye.

Sort of a sad shot in all ways. Of course she will get birds- if I had a fox around (and probably do) I'd worry about my bird population, but I'd also worry about the fox! Such is life (and death). I hope her eye is OK, as carol mentioned it.

+1 - great shot despite the mishap - poor birdie ;)

Numerous foxes in our area have come done with a mite infection (Sarcoptes scabiei), which is frequently fatal - especially for the young cubs.

Hope your lass stays healthy.
