The Saddle billed stork with its colorful beak was a target species - another Lifer added to my cap. The beauty of its beak stands out from afar in the swaying greens of the Maasai Mara Savannah. Intriguing was the question - why is it called -saddle billed : cropped closeup of a sharp shot and the answer is obvious! Enjoy the colors, the saddle is for looks only - not for riding!!

This will be the FYI moment. It's name comes from that yellow appendage above the bill, which resembles a Saddle.

Interesting composition Ramesh. (Not overly sure this is digital art but hey, ho)...

The little yellow 'saddle' is nicely seen in this intimate view and the vivid colours on their bill look like a very amateur paint job!

Like Dave, I would have thought this was better suited to Birds Gallery.

Cool-looking bill and I like the tight crop.

Could easily be in "birds", but it makes a dramatic artistic view here too. Could be viewed as an abstract design. Very cool!
