The Popped Balloon Nebula or LBN576, is another tough one to image. It sits in the middle of a star field so to emphasize the nebula, I reduced the stars. This image represents 20+ hours of data on a colour Astro camera using a dual-band narrowband filter to enhance the hydrogen(red) and Oxygen(green/blue) by excluding other wavelengths. Shot with a Skywatcher ED80 telescope and ZWO294MC cooled to -10 celsius. Processed in Pixinsight, Capture One and Affinity Photo.
I like how it resembles a popped balloon with the side appearing to be blown out. |
