This is one of my first efforts using "real" b/w film. There was rather dense fog over the bayou and I used a several second exposure to try and make it even more substantial. Then I prayed the egret would hold still. He did for a couple of frames.

Elan7e, 100-400IS, Fuji Acros (scanning b/w film is a whole different ballgame). Gaussian blur overlay used for effect.

Wonderful image, Jenny.

You did well on scanning the B&W film. It's tough work.

Oh, Jenny, this is breathtaking - so dreamy and moody.

It looks like you did a fine job with the scan. I'll bet it was hard to get the egret to stand out from the mist.

Very nice! Excellent job getting the details in the darker areas. The composition and mood are excellent.

Wow! What a great choice for a B&W scene! Though usually I'd prefer to see more "shades of gray," this really works great. Very mysterious!

For a guy that has only set foot east of the Mississippi one or twice, this really projects what a bayou is like. It is moody and impressive. Great to see!

Hey Jenny! I'm just back from the UP and had to check your post to see whether you'd tried Acros yet. Great job! I love the image...looks like you've taken to "real b&w film" very well indeed :)
