The least terns return to MA beaches by the first week of May. I saw the first pair of terns around 1st May as they returned. Today there were about 30 or so terns active on the beach. The male terns are actively going out to the ocean to bring back fish for their mate. I found this pair as they exchanged the fish. What a great morning.
