Congratulations! This is the Flora and Macro image of the week for week ending 1/07/05
Image
Canon 10D, 180mm, f16, 1/20, ISO400, twin flash at -2/3. tripod

This thistle reminded me of fireworks as I got into it. The only thing I have done here is apply a slight blend of blur. One might argue that it makes it a digital creation but I see it as not much different from USM albeit in the opposite direction.

Nicely done Steve, and much more environmentally friendly than a real firework! :D 8) 8) 8)

I agree that your workflow here doesn't go into a digital creation. This could easily be done in a conventional dark room with a silk diffuser.
This is excellent. Very well seen and executed.

Very nice M8t. Well picked perspective. Maybe that green at the top could go. There is something special about this in that, its both soft and sharp and the same time. I've seen a few shots like this and its a totally unique look. Always loved it when I've seen it. Never been able to emulate though Steve and I've tried. :D

Reminds me of natures fibre optics this one. A fireworks burst, it sure does.

All the best Steve, great eye to see and take it. Happy new year mate :D

Danny.

Steve, I like the blur effect but agree that the green at the top is a bit distracting. Nice shot.
