It's an interesting shot. The angle is almost disturbing in a way which makes it provocative.

exactly. I like to create what I call "eye dancing" in my images. I always think of my prints as 2 dimension space (which they are) and I like to play with it. I never think "composition" in the traditional photographic sense.

This is a very well composed image -- I think all the lines really work well together. One possible improvement would be to have tried to brighten the blocked-up shadows around the base of the tree with a little fill flash.

Interesting, creative shot. My first thought is that this would be the view from a space ship landing in the forest. :wink:
