Thanks Paul. This is a start. I wonder how i missed this. I just signed up…..I guess for next year. At 100 per day, next year will be 365,000 elephants murdered. Is that right. How many are left?

Even if we stop the poachers we still cannot stop humans taking over their habitat...

"As human populations continue to grow throughout the elephants' range, habitat loss and degradation are expected to become the major threats to elephants survival."

In recent years, elephant poaching has averaged about 30,000 per year. The total African elephant population today is about 400,000. In 1979 the estimated population was 1.3 million. 35,000 elephants were poached across Africa in 2013, and 100,000 in the three years from 2011 to 2013.
Tanzania has lost half of its elephant population in the last five years. In 2013, over 10,000 elephants were poached in Tanzania alone, averaging 30 per day.
This is NOT sustainable. These losses are due almost entirely to poaching.

Oh yes Joe, thank you.  How careless of me; I got ahead of myself.  That number did look bizarre.

I know it's not an end all cure but maybe the more exposure to the problem the more people will speak up and that would have an effect..

Didn't find much great as far as t-shirts with a save the elephants theme online...

I know I have seen many a photos here by various artists that would blow the doors off what's available now. Seems to me it wouldn't be a difficult endeavor to get some of those images donated by them, have them printed on some t's, and then sell them  right here in the store with much of the proceeds going to funding to help save them. This is all relatively easily done now with digital garment printing and mass production of "you name it" kind of t's. Just a thought.......
