A huge 50 year old elephant was killed in Zimbabwe. I haven't seen a photo of it yet, but the article says the tusks nearly dragged on the ground.

This is so sad. I wish the second article you posted didn't just lump the U.S. in with awful exploitative places like China and Vietnam. The U.S. has essentially put a complete ban on commercial ivory trade as of 2014, and further measures are taking place right now to strengthen the laws. Seems like the author should have included that since I don't see any other countries doing ANYTHING about this abhorrent trend.
