It is awesome that they have once again confirmed a sighting.  Pretty darn good photo, too, considering they were scientists simply attempting to procure a photo for documentation.  

I wondered why I hadn't heard of this species before.  Then I realized that the book I recently acquired, The Little Known Pika, which covered all of the known pika species world-wide - was published in 1978 - 5 years before the Ili Pika was discovered by Weidong Li in China.

Great read - thanks for sharing it.
