Another from the autumn trip to RMNP. This is one of the most incredible rainbows I have ever seen and it lasted for the better part of three hours. At one point it even became a full double rainbow. Unfortunately I didn't have a wide enough lens to get it all in.

This elk was cooperative enough to pose with the rainbow before bedding with his cows under a nearby tree. Kind of a cool shot and not something you see every day!

Specs: EOS 3 - EF 70-200 f/4 - 1/350 @ f/8 - Fuji Velvia @ 80 - Eval @ 0 - Handheld

Hey Les we must've been there the same day! I could not believe how long that rainbow lasted, it literally didn't disappear til the sun was too high to make it appear any more. You got a very nice scene with it!

Nice one Les, I like the diagonal across the top with the rb, and getting an elk in there is a big bonus.. Unique and well done...

As you say Les, to get the two together is not something you see every day! Great job to get the two in one shot! 8) 8) 8) :)

Les,
Great stuff! Elk are my favorite subjects even though I'm far from their habitat. Got to get to the rockies soon. Keep the images coming.

Les,
Royal Tine Images! Great name and website. I wonder how many of your viewers know just what a royal tine is. The trade mark is very unique and well thought out.
BTW, where have you found the best locations for photographing elk and mule deer? I'm not trying to get some business secrets as I'm only a rank amateur with a love for antlered animals, especially elk and deer.
