Gerenuk
Samburu NP, Kenya

This was taken during a heavy rain in an El Nino year (1997). It is hard to see at this size but at higher dpi the rain looks like scratches on the slide as it comes down. the strong vertical crop is what I used to make a bookmark out of this shot, one of my favorites from my'green' trip to Kenya.

Nikon N90s with Tamron 200-500 MF zoom, on beanbag out window of a Landrover, Sensia 100.

Cheryl,

I've never seen Samburu so green. Great crop for a bookmark. I'm sure you have some unique images of them standing among the foliage.

  I love the looks of this guy/girl :)
Using sensia 100 and raining you must have used a slow shutter speed, but the slide looks very sharp
well done!

Love the crop and the expression! This is one of the best vertical crops I've seen of an animal. Great shot!

This is absolutely fantastic, the rain, the expression, the crop!! It looks like the Grinch. And I'm saying this even if you are a Notre Dame fan.

An excellent vertical compostion for a very vertical subject. It certainly does look wet. I love the expression. Nicely done.

What a cool shot! I've seen many pictures of gerenuk but never one like this. Who knew how funny they look from the front. You did a great job capturing this.

You know I love this one! Green is great, but it's the little drops of water about to fall from his ears that put this over the top.

His facial expression looks like something out of Star Wars (Yoda?) but I can't quite place it.
