This is dad. To his left about 10 feet is the road along the Madison River and a huge traffic jam. You'd never know it. Taken in the evening shadows. I haveimages of him turned in both directions and with a river BG as well. Next a frontal pose.

10D, 600IS, ISO 400, EV-1/3, f7.1, 1/100, no flash.

Comments and reposts welcome.

Jim:

I recognize this bull. I believe he is BullC in my narrative about the big elk battles of September 24.. Nicely captured image.

Excellent pose and fine shot of this good looking Elk Jim. My monitor shows a bit of a blue cast in the shadows but that should be easily fixed. Very fine image! 8) 8) 8) 8) :)

ROFL! That was exactly my first thought in looking at the shot. Looks like he is amply endowed - in more ways than one. Love the cool colors and the mood of the shot. Might take a bit more room on the left - but I would be more than willing to take this in my files!

The beauty of digital is one can lighten the overall image. I finished shooting almost in darkness with a 28- 135 lens and off camera flash but threw all those images away because of the white eye effect. I turned off my flash initially when I was using the 600IS because of the white eye effect. THere's no question about the blue cast especially on the antlers. Could this be due in part to the reflection off the river only 15 feet to his right?

An excellent shot, just wish it wasn't so severely shifted toward blue. The rocks and OOF trees are blue.

Great shot of this stud Jim!! He's a magnificent specimen and I really like the angle. I'd tweak the blue cast a tad in PS. 8) 8)

Great shot- I can see why he caused a traffic jam.
