For those of us in the United States and many outside, we remember growing up with Mutual of Omaha's Wild Kingdom. Last month was their 50th Anniversary, and they announced a contest to find their "Next Wild Guide" for a YouTube series. So I decided to try my hand at video, using a subject that was relatively easy to find, the Round Tailed Ground Squirrel.

Please watch and let me know what you think, and view some of the other submissions. Some are pretty good, others are interesting. The contest asked for a demonstration of your hosting abilities, so it is interesting to see people's different takes on that. There are some pretty depressing examples though as well. I have no issues using captive animals for demonstration and understand the need to capture some for scientific endeavors, but check out the guy with the cobra's he feeds, "Evlis: the Rampage Edition", not entirely sure that he would be someone I would want to teach my children about animals, if I had them.

If I make it to the semi-finals, I might be reminding you all that you have an opportunity to vote.

Thanks for watching.
