Congratulations! This is the Image of the Week selection for the Birds Gallery, week ending 28th September, 2012!One picture from yesterday morning. I think Fairy Wrens are probably one of the most appealing Australian bird species for non-Australians, because they look so colorful...
They are tiny birds and don't mind singing from very delicate perches :)

I think the Fairy Wrens are appealing to everyone ...

Nice job here, and I like the diffuse light.

As Karl suggests, it looks like this bird has already shed some feathers on the wing coverts and belly; hard to believe this brilliant bird isn't even in its prime. But I wouldn't have noticed if it hadn't been mentioned. Has no impact on the merits of the photo.
