I sure could have used a flash for this one to even out the dappled light yet it's the only close-up of this young a moose that I have. A wee bit of PS to pull this one from the brink+500mm+1.4tc+bracketing+spot metering on film

As you said, some flash would help but it would have to be way off camera to avoid weird things from happening in the eye. Correcting the slightly blue cast would help it out too. The composition and animal are very good.

Blue cast correction will make a difference to this shot Dave. I love the surprised look back - almost like you just said Boo! and the little curls in the coat. 8) 8) 8) :)
